Silicon Valley Tech Company Selects Kansas City for Second Office
Suitable Technologies will serve clients worldwide from Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Palo Alto, Calif.-based Suitable Technologies, Inc. has expanded operations with the opening of an international support office in Kansas City, Mo., for the company's Beam remote presence technology.
Suitable Technologies will occupy office space at City Center Square, 1100 Main Street, and build an international support center for the Beam, which enables users to travel instantly to remote locations using video conferencing technology that they can drive, over a Wi-Fi or cellular 4G LTE connection.
"We selected Kansas City because of its central location and access to technical talent from its 20 local universities," said Scott Hassan, CEO of Suitable Technologies. "As our business continues to grow, we look forward to the opportunity to bring local talent on-board."
After an extensive search process, the company selected the Kansas City region over Austin, Tex., the other finalist.
"Suitable Technologies was initially attracted to the Kansas City market because of Google Fiber, and it was the impression the city made on company decision makers that sealed the deal," said Bob Marcusse, president and CEO, Kansas City Area Development Council (KCADC), the regional economic development agency for the two-state, 18-county Kansas City metro. "We are eager to see Suitable Technologies grow in KC, and are very proud to be the home of the company's first office outside of Silicon Valley."
KCADC worked with a team of regional partners in the attraction of Suitable Technologies: Cassidy Turley; CBRE; Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City, Missouri; Missouri Partnership; City of Kansas City, Missouri; KCP&L; and KCnext.
