BEDFORD PARK, Ill., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Nexus Distribution expands to 1 million square feet in Bedford Park. Third-party logistics provider Nexus Distribution announced today that it has added a third warehouse to its Midwest region facilities. The new distribution center, located at 6510 W 73rd Street in Bedford Park, IL, features 306,552 square feet and direct access to the adjacent CSX intermodal yard.

The facility is strategically accessible to the recently constructed "Chicago Land Bridge," a half-mile-long private roadway which can be used to transport "heavy" containers, or containers weighing more than allowed on U.S. public roadways. Constructed in March 2006, the Chicago Land Bridge is now directly accessible from two of Nexus' warehouse facilities, and can be used to support container drayage activities for both imported and exported materials.

Nexus CEO Dean Hansen said, "The 6510 building gives us exclusive control of the land bridge, which is crucial to our unique ability to handle heavy-loaded containers."

The 6510 property is adjacent to another Nexus warehouse, at 6558 W 73rd Street, both owned by Mirvac Industrial Trust, an Australia-based REIT with a fourteen-million-square-feet industrial portfolio in the Chicago region.

Nexus occupies a 3rd facility at 6220 W 73rd Street, Bedford Park, IL 60638.
