Social media and leaderboard challenges throughout the day heightened the excitement and helped bring in additional funds for Rutgers schools, units, and programs.
Members of the Rutgers community attended Rutgers Giving Day events at all university locations. Students made their mark by painting scarlet R's on canvases. They scored fun giveaways, such as stickers and red boxes, which contained a compliment and chocolate kisses to share with a friend and a call to do a random act of kindness or to make a gift. They also earned additional funds for their favorite Rutgers causes by finding hidden Rutgers Giving Day paint cans and taking selfies with them. Gifts were made at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, Rutgers University–Camden, Rutgers University–Newark, and Rutgers University–New Brunswick.
