Goes Head-to-Head With WebEx, Lotus and Box.net, Targets the US

SAN FRANCISCO and LONDON, September 30 /PRNewswire/ -- http://www.huddle.net has today launched new features for its online enterprise collaboration platform including web conferencing, deep integration with Microsoft Office and an iPhone application. The company also extended its reach to some of the largest telecoms resellers in the US.

Currently, Huddle is the only company to offer the complete hosted suite of asynchronous collaboration and live communication tools in a single, enterprise-level application. It provides accessibility either side of the firewall across multiple platforms and languages. With unlimited users being invited for free, Huddle can scale from small teams to large enterprise deployments rapidly and for low cost.

New features include:

Microsoft Office integration

With the arrival of Huddle's Office plug-in, users can access documents stored online directly from their desktop applications. They are able to save their desktop files directly into Huddle, view and edit files, add new versions, request approvals and send notifications without opening a browser window. In the near future, the company is planning to develop a plug-in for SharePoint and offer further integration with other Microsoft products.

"Through the Microsoft BizSpark program, Huddle has been able to leverage a variety of tools and technologies including Microsoft Office to create a better experience for their customers," said Dan'l Lewin, corporate vice president of Emerging Business Development at Microsoft. "We are excited to collaborate with Huddle as they integrate new features into their web-based online collaboration environment and expand into the US market, and we look forward to seeing them grow even more as one of the top early-stage companies to watch."

Web conferencing

Huddle's web conferencing is fully integrated into its collaboration platform. Users can set up instantaneous meetings, schedule recurring events, share their desktop and content with other members of their workspace. Huddle's web conferencing comes with built-in low-cost global phone conferencing numbers and integrates directly with your Outlook or Google calendar. Users receive free conferencing minutes as a part of their monthly package. They can also upgrade to unlimited conferencing and multiple concurrent rooms at the lowest price currently available on the market.

Huddle iPhone App

The Huddle iPhone app offers full access to document sharing, project tasks, discussions and whiteboards, as well as a complete view of the user's personalized dashboard. The Huddle app is available from the App Store. Huddle can be also accessed on other cell phones by using third party applications such as Clustr (http://clustr.me.uk/ ).

Following extended partnership agreements, Huddle will be now sold by more than 900 channel partners in the US, including Intelisys and Microcorp. Huddle is already available to millions of US users via LinkedIn and has launched on Ning this month.

"We're delighted to see one of our featured Ning Apps gaining strong traction in the US immediately following the launch of their Ning App on the Ning Platform", said Kyle Ford , director of partner design & development for Ning. "It's a great step forward for Huddle's users to have the ability to use Huddle not only on Ning and online, but also on their desktop and cell."
