A biography currently on the market on the subject of Dana White, President of the UFC could soon be on the silver screen

Dana White, King of MMA was written by his mother, June White, who raised Dana and his sister as a single mom. June would like nothing more than to see her book become a movie, but we're not sure how Dana would feel about that.

BOSTON, May 3, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ --  Is Dana's status as a businessman up there with the likes of Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg when it comes to building an industry or an empire? Dana has received many awards, and is credited with bringing the sport of mma into the mainstream sports world with a recent 7 million dollar deal with Fox. Dana is able to sell out mma events around the world, but will that translate into movie ticket sales? Is Dana viewed by others in the business world as a masterful businessman? He has taken a bankrupt business and turned it into an international, billion dollar business, but is that enough?

The movie will follow the biography, Dana White , King of MMA written by his mom, but we have no doubt some changes, additions and liberties will be taken. In the biography Dana White , King of MMA one gets the sense of the life Dana had growing up. The reader will discover that Dana attended private schools ( Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta were schoolmates) not that he wasn't thrown out, not once but twice. He spent his summers back east in Maine and Massachusetts and had a horse that was kept for him in Maine. The book contains a number of interesting stories about Dana's life growing up and lets the reader inside to see just some of the obstacles Dana encountered while working to turn the UFC into the successful, money making machine it is today. Although his partners, Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta were already billionaires, Dana has made himself a multimillionaire before the age of forty and will probably be in the billionaire category with his partners before he retires.  Dana has no more than a high school education which makes his accomplishments even more impressive.

The book is not all wine and roses, Dana's mom questions the person her son has become with all his money and fame and says it has changed him, and not for the better. Money and power have been known to corrupt many a person. Is his mom right? Does Hollywood believe Dana's life is interesting enough to cross over into other demographics besides mma fans? Would that translate into selling out movie theaters just as the UFC sells out sports arenas? Will the movie appeal to more than just mma fans?

Who in Hollywood is willing to gamble on the project?  For now we'll have to wait a little longer to see.
