Consulting firm Deloitte estimates that crowdfunding will raise $3 billion in 2013, doubling the $1.5 billion raised in 2011. For small creative entrepreneurs looking to bring their big idea to life, crowdfunding can seem like a golden ticket.
"What many don't realize is that there are two important aspects of a successful crowdfunding campaign. The first is bringing the idea to life through design, prototyping, and manufacturing," said Delger. "The second aspect is a marketing campaign for fundraising. Where many creative entrepreneurs fall short is not the idea or end product; they fall short because they don't understand how to successfully market their campaign and connect with the right audience with the right message."
Delger, who specializes in marketing and strategy for independent brands and artists, wants to help artists make their dreams come true. Says Delger of the e-book, "Creative types thrive when it comes to innovative business ideas. When it comes to planning their marketing campaign, they don't want an instruction manual. They want a guide that speaks to them with the same kind of creativity they bring to their business. That's what sets Get Funded apart from other guides. Get Funded not only tells you what to do, it shows you how to do it."
Delger, who has helped both run and advise successful crowdfunding campaigns, wrote Get Funded after seeing the need for a crowdfunding plan that gave both advice and instructions. "Nicole does a great job on helping you get ready for the road ahead," said Rena Tom. The co-founder of San Francisco-based coworking space Makeshift Society, Rena has an active campaign launching Makeshift's second coworking space in Brooklyn. Delger advised Tom in early campaign planning. The campaign, which runs through the end of October, was 30% funded within ten days of launch.
The e-book, illustrated by Tim Delger (Nicole's husband and the creative talent behind the wildly popular site HipsterLogo.com), engages the reader with bright visuals and checkpoints throughout.
In addition to the $10 e-book, Delger is offering a crowdfunding campaign kit with resources like example scripts, research, and planning tools for managing campaign marketing. The downloadable e-book with supplemental kit sells for $90.
