CLEVELAND, Oct. 29, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Scott Kim, owner of the successful Shaker Heights restaurant, SASA, has opened his newest restaurant, Accent, on October 29 in Cleveland's new Uptown development.

Accent is proud to be the only restaurant to introduce the Robata Grill and Josper Oven. Chef Scott Kim's extensive travels to Japan and other Asian countries served as his inspiration for introducing Robata Grilling and the Josper Oven for Accent's Pan-Asian cuisine.

Often thought of as Japan's best kept cooking secret, the Robata Grill reaches temperatures of 1,000 degrees ensuring a crisp, outer texture without overcooking the food on the inside. This inventive cooking technique produces the most tender and moist vegetables and meats.

The Josper Oven, originated in Spain, combines the traditional oven with the characteristics of charbroiling. Kim chose to bring this method to Accent as it reaches the perfect temperature using the highest quality charcoal, ensuring rich and textured flavor is preserved without any charring.

"I am extremely honored to bring these techniques to Cleveland. Accent has the perfect atmosphere and cuisine to merge these one-of-a-kind cooking methods. I believe in providing my customers with the freshest ingredients and healthy, flavorful cuisine," says Chef Scott Kim, owner of Accent.

Scott selected this site to launch their third venture, located in Cleveland's vibrant University Circle, and commissioned architect Stanley Saitowitz of San Francisco to create a modern, yet comfortable space. Shaped like a bento box, the egg-shaped restaurant has an artistic design and an intimate atmosphere with a traditional dining room, Chef's table, private party room and patio.

Kim chose the newest Uptown area as they felt this unique restaurant would be the perfect extension to this culturally rich neighborhood.

Says Chef Scott Kim, "I've been waiting for just the right time, space and people for this idea to come to fruition. That idea is brought to life with the opening of Accent. My goal was to create a place that fuses a community in the same way we are fusing flavors, foods and cooking styles."

Accent connects old world and new world Asian cuisine by seamlessly fusing innovative dishes and flavors with traditional quality and modern style. The restaurant is located in the recently developed Uptown district – a new downtown for the vibrant and culturally rich University Circle neighborhood on Cleveland's east side.
