The BMW's value was based on Millward Brown's assessment of the automaker's account earnings, the brand's overall value, and the weight of the brand's impact on company revenue. The research group also interviewed upwards of two million consumers in over 30 countries to analyze their opinions of and interactions with around 50,000 brands.
Millward Brown's study indicated that BMW's overall brand value increased by 10 percent over the last few years, allowing the automaker to increase its worth to $24.6 billion. Although BMW briefly owned the top stop in 2010, the automaker is back on top in 2012.
BMW has consistently presented a strong, unyielding message to its customers while providing quality, luxury products for its consumers. According to the market research group, the automaker has also experienced a continuous increase in sales in parts of Asia, China in particular.
