AFSCME Endorses Casey for U.S. Senate
HARRISBURG, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The labor union representing more than
65,000 public service employees in Pennsylvania today announced its support
for Bob Casey, Jr. in the 2006 U.S. Senate election.
Council 13 of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal
Employees convened its Statewide Steering Committee today to discuss the
upcoming U.S. Senate election, and to discuss the union's endorsement.
The Committee voted unanimously to endorse Casey.

Executive Director David Fillman. "The 2006 U.S. Senate race will be crucial
for our members, and we will help Bob in every way we can," he added.
"As Auditor General and currently as State Treasurer, Bob Casey has become
known as a fiscal watchdog. He has and continues to develop and implement
many programs that monitor the spending of tax dollars by the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania, eliminating waste and fraud within the State's budget," added
Political and Legislative Affairs Director Barry Bogarde.
