Air Tahiti Nui Receives Operating Approval From D.O.T.; L.A.-Papeete Service Set to Commence November 21, 1998

    EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Air Tahiti Nui, the new
 international airline of Tahiti, announced that it has received U.S.
 Department of Transportation approval.  Service from Los Angeles, CA, to
 Papeete, Tahiti, will commence as scheduled on November 21.
     "We are delighted that we have been granted flight approval by the D.O.T.
 and are eagerly looking forward to providing service to the U.S. market
 through our Los Angeles gateway,"  noted Nelson Levy, chairman of the new
 airline.  "Over the past several months, we have been working diligently to
 insure that our customized, state-of-the-art, 286-passenger Airbus A340-200
 aircraft will meet the demands of our customers.  We are confident that Air
 Tahiti Nui will provide a new standard of service to our passengers and the
 ultimate in comfort and convenience."
     In conjunction with the D.O.T. approval, Air Tahiti Nui announced that it
 has selected Delta Air Lines Terminal No. 5 at Los Angeles International
 Airport (LAX) as its gateway terminal.  "The Delta terminal was completely
 renovated a few years ago and has a warm and inviting decor.  Like our
 airline, it serves as an oasis for travelers, and provides a comfortable and
 relaxed atmosphere," Levy said.  He added that Air Tahiti Nui's Business Class
 (Club Poerava) passengers will have use of Delta's exclusive "Crown Room"
 facilities in the terminal.
     "In addition to these features, we were very impressed with the terminal's
 efficiency.  It has streamlined U.S. immigration and customs facilities that
 afford Air Tahiti Nui passengers immediate access to connecting Delta Air
 Lines flights as well as those of other airlines located in Terminal 5," Levy
 noted.  The terminal is also located within close proximity of all other
 terminals at LAX, he added.
     Air Tahiti Nui also announced that it is now part of the SABRE multi-host
 airline reservation system, and that schedules, availability and ticketing are
 now available through the GDS.   "Our goal is to provide maximum service and
 benefit to our tour operators, cruise lines, travel agents and
 incentive/meeting planners to meet the needs of their clients," said Levy.
     With three weekly (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), early afternoon, non-stop
 flights to Papeete from Los Angeles, Air Tahiti Nui's schedule is designed to
 conveniently connect passengers from every major city in North America through
 its Los Angeles gateway.  Arrival and departure times to and from Papeete also
 will allow passengers to make quick and easy interline connections to and from
 other Tahitian islands such as Bora Bora and Moorea.  Returning flights to Los
 Angeles on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays will offer the same convenient
