Alaska Airlines Starts Seasonal Service Between San Jose and Palm Springs, Calif.
Mileage Plan members can earn double miles on flights through March 27
SEATTLE, Feb. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Alaska Airlines today inaugurates new seasonal service between San Jose and Palm Springs, Calif. The new nonstop route operates through June 2. After a hiatus from June 3 to Oct. 4, seasonal service will then resume Oct. 5, 2012.

"Alaska Airlines has served the Palm Springs airport from the Pacific Northwest and San Francisco since 1980. This added route from San Jose rounds out our service to this great community."

Members of Alaska Airlines' Mileage Plan can earn double miles on the new route from Feb. 17 through March 27, 2012. To qualify, customers must first register at www.alaskaair.com.
The seasonal San Jose-Palm Springs route will be operated by Alaska's sister carrier, Horizon Air, with the fuel-efficient Bombardier Q400.

Terms and conditions for Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan double miles: Registration is required prior to the member's first qualifying flight in order to receive double miles. Flight miles must be credited to the member's Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan account in order to earn double miles. All travel between San Jose and Palm Springs must be completed by March 27, 2012. Not valid on free or award travel. Double miles do not count toward MVP or MVP Gold status. Members should allow four to six weeks for travel and bonus miles to be credited.
