Company continues focus on strategy execution with expanded executive roles

MADISON, Wis., Dec. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Energy Corporation (NYSE: LNT) today announced changes in positions of two key executives on its leadership team. The company is making these organizational changes to further focus on its corporate strategy execution. At Alliant Energy's recent Board of Directors meeting, the individuals were recognized for their expanding roles and contribution to Alliant Energy's future success.

Patricia Kampling has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. Kampling will take on an expanded financial role as well as additional corporate strategic planning activities. She will report to William D. Harvey, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Alliant Energy.

John Larsen has been promoted to Senior Vice President - Generation. In addition to oversight of generation, Larsen's responsibilities will be broadened to include several generation-related duties. He will also continue to report to Harvey.

Both Kampling and Larsen are headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin.

The appointments will be effective on January 1, 2010.
