Amazon Adds HyperOffice's Cloud Email, Collaboration and Mobility Software to Its GovCloud Cloud App Marketplace for the Public Sector
ROCKVILLE, Md., Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, HyperOffice announced that in partnership with Amazon its award winning cloud communication and collaboration software is available through AWS GovCloud, a cloud infrastructure built to meet the security and compliance requirements of the public sector.
Amazon's AWS GovCloud, recently launched by Amazon as part of its Amazon Web Services cloud platform, offers public sector agencies a selection of cloud based infrastructure and organizational applications. HyperOffice in the AWS GovCloud provides public sector organizations and agencies with the latest in communication and collaboration technology, while complying with stringent regulations like ITAR and HIPPA and fulfilling government specific security requirements through certifications like FISMA, SAS-70, ISO 27001, FIPS 140-2 compliant end points, and PCI DSS Level 1.
"We are all aware of the tremendous pressure on federal and state budgets," said Farzin Arsanjani, President, HyperOffice. "Getting rid of costly and outdated legacy systems and shifting to cost effective cloud based systems will be high on the agenda of every public sector organization and government agency, whether local, state or federal," he added. "The White House recognizes this opportunity. Vivek Kundra's 'cloud first' initiative directs federal IT managers to look at lightweight internet based systems, especially in productivity and collaboration, to reduce costs and improve service delivery."
A pioneer in cloud email, collaboration and mobility, HyperOffice allows Public sector organizations and agencies to move essential IT systems and data like email, documents, projects, calendars, etc. to the cloud and access them from a centralized cloud based suite accessible from any internet connected PC, Mac or mobile device. "HyperOffice brings the public sector a robust technology, a solid reputation and 10 years of experience to assist with their move to the cloud," said Farzin. "Not only is HyperOffice more cost effective than legacy IT systems, it also gives agencies the flexibility to allow employees to work from home or while travelling; access resources from across the country; and collaborate effectively with external contractors," he added.
"The International Poverty Solutions Collaborative includes faculty from 13 different colleges at The Ohio State University. We have found HyperOffice useful for setting up collaborative work groups. We still have a ways to go to fully use the capabilities of HyperOffice, but collaborators who are sharing and co-editing large documents are seeing immediate benefits," said Howard Goldstein, Research Director, Schoenbaum Family Center at The Ohio State University. "With increasing acceptance of cloud computing, I suspect that more of our faculty, staff, and students will become enamored with HyperOffice," Howard added.
"Given fast shrinking budgets, cloud computing offers government agencies an obvious opportunity to cut costs and modernize their systems at the same time," said Don Begley, Partner at Mita Group, a multi-disciplinary consultancy focused toward the government sector. "A solution like HyperOffice allows government agencies to move their email, documents and other data from local servers to the cloud, and give their workers the flexibility to access productivity tools from within the office or outside. With HyperOffice on the AWS GovCloud, they can be assured that they are fully compliant with all government regulatory and security requirements," Don added.
