Dallas-based energy provider added more than 250,000 customers in 2011

DALLAS, Feb. 8, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Ambit Energy, a national retail energy provider, announced today the company ended 2011 with over 700,000 customers – an increase of more than 250,000 for the year.

After reaching 500,000 customers in the first quarter of 2011, the company, announced that it surpassed 600,000 customers in August. Contributing to Ambit's late-2011 growth was the completion of a 32 market expansion, including eight residential markets and 24 small commercial markets and continued growth in the Texas ERCOT market.
