American Airlines, American Express and Travelocity Among Fourteen Named in Patent Infringement Suit

    DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- ArrivalStar, Inc., a
 pioneering developer of advance notification systems for communicating vehicle
 status, location, and arrival information, and assignee on 22 issued and
 pending patents in the field, announced today that it has filed suit against
 14 companies for patent infringement.
     The action was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern
 District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, by attorneys from the firm of Hill,
 Kertscher & Pixley LLP.  Named in the complaint were Delta Airlines Inc.
 (NYSE:   DAL), Sabre Inc. (NYSE:   TSG), American Express Company (NYSE:   AXP),
 American Airlines, Inc. (NYSE:   AMR),, L.P., the City of
 Atlanta, Worldspan, L.P., FlyteComm Corporation, Centerpost Corporation,
 Continental Airlines, Inc. (NYSE:   CAL), Japan Airlines Company, LTD
 (Nasdaq:   JAPNY), Roadway Express, Inc.(Nasdaq:   ROAD), Electronics for Imaging,
 Inc., and SITA Information Networking Computing USA, Inc.
     ArrivalStar is seeking to enforce its patents, which cover, among other
 things, specific aspects of vehicle status and proximity reporting, as well as
 the advance notification of vehicle arrival at particular locations.
     "Naturally, we prefer to avoid litigation," stated ArrivalStar CEO Martin
 Kelly Jones, "but many defendants were unresponsive to overtures to discuss
 either the relevance of the patents for their businesses or our offer of a
 license on reasonable terms."
      ArrivalStar inventions enable integrated impending arrival communication
 services for numerous applications. Among these are school bus, emergency
 vehicle, and flight arrival notification, as well as alert services for
 package delivery, courier, and repair calls.
     Simultaneously, ArrivalStar announced that it had retained the firm of
 Karrenbrock & Meuse, LLC as exclusive agent for the licensing of its
