American Farmland Trust: Resource Guide, Webinar Available To Assist RCPP Proposals

WASHINGTON, June 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- With one month before the first deadline of USDA's Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), American Farmland Trust today released a resource guide to provide additional information for partners as they develop proposals.

"Every day, farmers rely on the soil, fresh water, and other natural resources to grow their crops and ensure their livelihoods," said AFT President and CEO Andrew McElwaine.  "We must encourage sound conservation practices today, through programs such as RCPP, so that farmland remains healthy and able to support the needs of future generations."

USDA announced the RCPP on May 27 and the availability of $400 million in conservation funding.

"Because AFT has long supported partnerships to encourage agricultural conservation practices, we are providing information, through the proposal guide and the webinar, to create the strongest proposals possible," McElwaine said.

In addition, AFT will host a webinar with former NRCS Chief Dave White on Monday, June 16 at 11 a.m. EDT.

American Farmland Trust's RCPP Proposal Guide can be found at http://www.farmland.org/programs/federal/FB2014-Resources.asp.
