ATLANTA, July 27, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Americold today announced that Hamid Arabzadeh has joined the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer.  In this new role, Mr. Arabzadeh will report to Americold's Chief Executive Officer, Jos Opdeweegh, and be responsible for the company's domestic and international compliance strategy.

Mr. Arabzadeh joins Americold after 11 years as the principal of HRA Environmental Consultants in Irvine, California.  Prior to HRA, Mr. Arabzadeh served as the Director of Global Industrial Hygiene for UNOCAL Corporation, and has held positions as the Director of the Los Angeles Unified School District's Environmental Health and Safety Branch, and University EHS manager.  Mr. Arabzadeh is a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Hazardous Materials Manager and Registered Environmental Assessor.  Mr. Arabzadeh served on the advisory boards of the Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety at the University of California, Irvine and California State University Workers Compensation Reform Board and was elected by his peers as a Fellow of the American Industrial Hygiene Association and serves as the Vice Chair of its Fellows Advisory Group.
