Andrew Braccia Joins Accel Partners
Former Yahoo executive bolsters Accel's team in the consumer Internet space
PALO ALTO, Calif., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Accel Partners, a leading
Silicon Valley venture capital firm, today announced the addition of Andrew
Braccia to their Palo Alto office. Andrew, who was formerly Yahoo's vice
president of consumer web search, brings deep knowledge in the consumer
Internet space and operational, business development and M&A expertise to
the firm.
In his new role, Andrew will identify investment opportunities in the
consumer Internet and software sectors focusing on search, digital media
and online advertising. Accel's growing portfolio of internet and media
companies includes industry leaders such as Facebook, Brightcove, Glam
Media, Metacafe, Prosper, BitTorrent, Double Fusion, AdMob and Medio, among
others.

Prior to Accel, Andrew held a variety of roles in business development,
general management, and operations with Yahoo! Most recently as vice
president of Yahoo! Search, he was responsible for all business and
operational aspects of Yahoo's consumer search business. He played a key
role in leading the company's expansion in to the social search arena with
the launch of Yahoo! Answers and the acquisition of Del.icio.us. Andrew
also helped direct the company's acquisition of Flickr - an important
component of Yahoo's community and social search strategy. In addition, as
a member of the operating team that led the development of Yahoo's own
search technology, he had a significant role in the acquisition and
integration of several companies including Inktomi, Overture, and Alta
Vista.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the
University of Arizona.
