Another Chicago Construction Company Joins Safety Group

CHICAGO, Oct. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- James McHugh Construction Company joined Build Safe Chicago today. This group formed in November 2010 by Lend Lease (US) Construction Inc., Gilbane Building Company, Kenny Construction Company, Mortenson Construction, Power Construction Company, LLC and Turner Construction Company.

These seven Chicago construction competitors have put competition aside, joining together to develop and implement safe work practices, and affect positive changes in construction safety, to ultimately achieve Incident and Injury Free construction throughout Illinois.  

Build Safe Chicago, recognizing that working together will achieve more than any one company, has combined the best safety practices of all member firms into a common set of safety initiatives regarding personal protective equipment, fall protection, emergency actions plans, etc., promoting safety as a prime differentiator of construction in Illinois.  Build Safe Chicago member firms will strive to harmonize and integrate the Build Safe Chicago Safety and Health Standards on their construction projects in Chicago.
