PITTSBURGH, Sept. 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- ANSYS (NASDAQ: ANSS) has re-affirmed its commitment to southwestern Pennsylvania, announcing plans to lease its new headquarters in Southpointe II. Located less than a mile from its current headquarters on Technology Drive, the new 186,000 square-foot facility is scheduled to be ready in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The new ANSYS headquarters will be larger than its current 107,000 square-foot headquarters location, providing room for expansion and future growth. As part of the move, ANSYS will also relocate its employees from offices currently situated in Station Square in Pittsburgh.
Over the years, ANSYS has grown from its roots in a Washington County farmhouse to a NASDAQ-listed worldwide organization providing innovative multiphysics simulation technologies that power some of the largest and most successful organizations' research and development efforts.
"Although ANSYS technology is being used by more than 40,000 companies around the globe, we're proud to call southwestern Pennsylvania home," said Jim Cashman, CEO and president of ANSYS. "A combination of a business-friendly environment and access to nearby distinguished universities that produce highly skilled professionals continually fosters our growth and development and makes Washington County an ideal location to conduct business."
Jones Lang LaSalle's Tenant Representation group provided ANSYS with strategic advisory services regarding site selection of the new headquarters.
