AQMI Strategy Corporation Lays Claim to Aiding Successful Pro-Democracy Movement in Congo
ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- With the final run-off election
nearing a close in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), AQMI
Strategy Corporation of Orlando, Florida is looking back on their
involvement with the recent democratic election for the office of president
in the former war-torn nation with both success and achievement, along with
some disappointment. Despite running a grassroots, social policy issues
campaign, the candidate supported by AQMI, Dr. Oscar Kashala, finished in
5th place out of 33 candidates and did not make the final election run-off.
Consequently, their contractual agreement with presidential candidate Dr.
Oscar Kashala formally ended in September of this year. However, the
company's lasting effect on the pro-democracy movement that the Kashala
candidacy created will be felt for years to come and will some day result
in improved living conditions for the people of the DRC.
Frank L. Amodeo, President of AQMI Strategy, had this to say about his
firm's involvement in the unprecedented election process occurring in the
African nation: "We were enriched by our participation as a part of the
first free and fair democratic elections in the DRC and we believe that the
United Nations and European Union have been doing, and continue to do, a
spectacular job for the future of the Congolese people and the
international community. We are confident that because of this election,
life for the millions of Congolese will improve for the better."
The run-off General Election which will be held on October 29th pits
the current President, Joseph Kabila, against one of the country's vice
presidents, ex-rebel leader Jean-Pierre Bemba. When the results are
announced later in November, one of them will be named the newly-elected
head of the first true democratic government in the DRC. Amodeo added, "Our
relationship ended with Dr. Kashala in late September and we are not taking
a position with either of the remaining two candidates. Our focus is to
continue to advocate for a pro-democracy movement with social reforms aimed
at improving the lives of the Congolese people. We hope to do much more in
the Congo when the elections and the transition to a new democratic
government are completed."
