LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Aug. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Arkansas Virtual Academy (ARVA), a tuition-free, online public school option, welcomes new and returning students for the 2015-2016 academic year. ARVA accepts students from across the state of Arkansas and takes an individualized approach to learning, combining online instruction and hands-on curriculum with the support of Arkansas-licensed teachers and an active school community.

ARVA will serve students in grades K-11 for the upcoming 2015-2016 academic year; adding twelfth grade in 2016-2017. Students who enroll in ARVA receive an individualized education experience, designed to let students find the learning style that works best for them.

ARVA provides courses in language arts/English, math, science, history, world languages, art and music for students in grades K-8, while the high school program offers students a growing number of, elective and Advanced Placement® courses. Students use web-based lessons and hands-on instructional materials that are shipped to their home.
To celebrate the start of its 8th school year, ARVA will host back-to-school events in communities across the state. Families interested in the program are invited to attend and learn more from teachers, students and parents. Upcoming events include:
