Aspen Aerogels Appoints Bilgrien to Head R&D

    NORTHBOROUGH, Mass., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspen Aerogels announced
 today that Carl Bilgrien has been appointed vice president, research and
 development. Dr. Bilgrien brings a diverse R&D background to Aspen Aerogels
 with comprehensive industrial experience in silicon-based materials. He is a
 19 year veteran of the Dow Corning Corporation where he contributed in a range
 of R&D, business development and management roles. Dr. Bilgrien will provide
 valuable perspective through his experience in the Elastomer, Automotive,
 Paper, Adhesives, Coatings, Chemical and Electronics Industries.  He is
 recognized as an innovator and has, authored 14 US patents in silicone
 elastomers, coatings and their various applications. He will direct Aspen
 Aerogel's research, development, and intellectual property activities.
