Aspen Aerogels Appoints Michael O'Connor to Lead New European Sales Operation

    NORTHBOROUGH, Mass., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Aspen Aerogels today announced
 the opening of its first sales office in Europe and the appointment of Michael
 O'Connor as European Sales Director. The move is part of Aspen's strategy to
 increase the company's presence and sales of its nanotechnology-enabled
 insulation products in Europe.
     O'Connor will head up a team responsible for sales of the company's
 insulation solutions across a range of European markets. These include the
 oil, liquid natural gas (LNG), chemical, apparel, domestic appliances,
 construction and automotive industries.
     He and his team will work out of Aspen's newly-established European sales
 office in Kehl am Rhein, Germany.
     The company believes that its decision to establish a European sales
 operation will allow it to develop new business and partnerships in Europe and
 enhance relationships with existing industry partners and customers.
     O'Connor comes to Aspen Aerogels from Dow Chemical where his most recent
 role was Global Sales Manager, Performance Foams. He brings with him twenty
 years of international business experience.
     Born in the UK, he has spent most of his career working in Europe. He
 holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Nottingham University, UK and an
 executive MBA from the University of Barcelona, Spain.
