STOCKHOLM, Dec. 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The $15 million, four-year contract renews a networking deal with AT&T* for a number of ASSA ABLOY locations and extends the scope of the support to be provided to the Swedish company by AT&T.
The agreement will see AT&T deploy a global virtual private network connecting over 400 ASSA ABLOY locations in 70 countries, as ASSA ABLOY rolls out a single IT system around the world.
"By using AT&T's virtual private networking capability we can make our business operations more agile," said Jens Nielsen CIO for ASSA ABLOY. "We expect it will help us become more efficient, economical, resilient and better able to meet the needs of our business around the world."
Today's announcement also underscores a key point in research recently commissioned by AT&T and conducted by Paris-based business school, INSEAD. The research found that when companies invest in ICT technologies and standardized business processes, they give themselves a "mature digitized platform," capable of driving higher business and productivity results.
