CLEVELAND, March 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Emily E. Vlasek has joined the Cleveland office of McDonald Hopkins as an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property Practice.

Vlasek advises clients on intellectual property matters including patent, trademark and litigation. She is a registered Patent Attorney and has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications for filing both in the U.S. and internationally focused in biotechnology, the chemical field and medical devices. Vlasek also prepares product clearance, patent invalidity, patentability, and state-of-the-art opinions, and has experience preparing and prosecuting trademark applications.
Before attending law school, Vlasek was a product researcher for Procter & Gamble in its R&D department where she managed consumer and technical test placements. She has also worked as a chemist for The Bonne Bell Company and as a research assistant for the Penn State Immunization Project.
Vlasek received her J.D. from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2012. She earned her B.A., Chemistry, cum laude, from Miami University in 2006.
