AZEK(R) Deck TV Ad Roars Into March With Solutions For Outdoor Living

 

SCRANTON, Pa., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- March may come in like a lion, but harsh weather, along with rowdy party goers and food spills are no match for an AZEK Deck, according to the television ad AZEK Building Products first tested during the holiday season.  The 30-second spot is set during a lively outdoor deck party, complete with food and wine spills, a limbo contest and moving furniture—all very challenging for a traditional wood or composite deck.  But AZEK Deck, with easy clean-up and minimal wear and tear, comes through like a champ as witnessed by the hostess the next morning when she happily reminisces with her coffee.

The spot will run 165 times throughout the month of March on HGTV and the DIY Network, playing to a primed audience of home enthusiasts.  "The high-energy party scene is something every homeowner can relate to," said Eric Lanel, of Montclair, NJ-based GWP, the agency that produced the commercial for AZEK Building Products.  "We want to get across the message that you don't have to worry about spills and mishaps if you own an AZEK Deck – that an AZEK Deck will greatly reduce maintenance and, long term, still retain its beauty."

The TV spot clearly shows the durability of an AZEK Deck - the deck resists scratches as a table is moved across the deck, clearing the way for a limbo contest that also demonstrates resistance to scratching.  And, food and wine are spilled, yet wipe up easily the next morning, even after sitting all night.

Filmed in Poway, California, AZEK Building Products first released the ad during the '09 holiday season to jump start consumers into thinking about their decks.  Now that spring is around the corner, it's time to decide on those outdoor improvements that are on the schedule, like the new or replacement deck that needs to be ready for the Memorial Weekend barbecue.  Lanel says the March airings are an impactful follow-up after the unique idea of engaging viewers with a December deck ad.
