TUPELO, Miss., July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At their regular quarterly meeting on July 22, 2009, the Board of Directors of BancorpSouth, Inc. (NYSE: BXS) declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.22 per common share. The dividend is payable October 1, 2009 to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 15, 2009.

BancorpSouth previously reported net income of $33.9 million or $0.41 per diluted share for the second quarter of 2009. Net income for the six months ended June 30, 2009 was $63.3 million or $0.76 per diluted share.

BancorpSouth, Inc. is a financial holding company headquartered in Tupelo, Mississippi, with approximately $13.3 billion in assets.
