National Music Education Nonprofit Taps San Francisco Firm for Integrated PR, Social Media Marketing
SAN FRANCISCO, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bateman Group, an integrated public relations and social media marketing firm, today announced that Little Kids Rock (LKR), a national nonprofit music program that provides free instruments and instruction to underfunded public schools, has selected the agency as its new PR agency of record, effective immediately.
In this capacity, the Bateman Group will provide Little Kids Rock with pro bono PR and social media marketing services aimed at raising awareness of the organization's vision and mission, as well as its innovative approach to music education. Programs will include: day-to-day strategic communications counsel; content creation and editing services; national, regional and broadcast media outreach; success story cultivation; K-12 education and music media and blogger outreach; blog and micro-blog monitoring and response; social networks management; viral video syndication; among others. The Little Kids Rock account team is based entirely in San Francisco and led by the firm's Vice President Bill Bourdon.
In 1996, an elementary school teacher, David Wish, grew frustrated with the lack of funding for music education at his school and offered an after-school guitar class to some students. What began as an informal project led by a single school teacher and a handful of volunteers has grown into one of the nation's leading music education nonprofits. With the support of Honorary Board Members Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, BB King, Slash, Ziggy Marley, Les Paul, Jason Newsted, and a host of celebrated friends in the music industry, Little Kids Rock is poised to significantly extend its reach in the U.S.
"Today's macro-economic environment is a tough one for all nonprofits," said David Wish, founder of Little Kids Rock. "Sources of funding are harder to find, yet demand for our services is at an all-time high. With the Bateman Group's expert guidance, I'm confident we'll captivate and impress the donor community so Little Kids Rock can continue to expand and change the lives of more and more students every year."
"In considering pro bono work, the receiving organization had to meet the same requirements as any potential client," said Bill Bourdon, vice president, Bateman Group. "We look for visionary companies with dynamic leaders solving real problems in innovative ways. As one of the country's leading music education nonprofits making a difference in the lives of tens of thousands of low-income students every year, Little Kids Rock more than meets our criteria. The team members are exuberant about the work and determined to make a positive impact right away," added Bourdon.
