Beaulieu Vineyard Chosen for Academy's Star-Studded After Party
BV Wines to Be Paired With Chef Wolfgang Puck's Menu at Exclusive
Governors Ball Following the 73rd Annual Academy Awards(R)
RUTHERFORD, Calif., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) will
be served at the prestigious Governors Ball hosted on Sunday, March 25 by the
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the Shrine Auditorium in
Los Angeles, CA.
Renowned chef Wolfgang Puck has created the menu and wine selection for
this year's celebrity event, which will follow the announcement of the
73rd Annual Academy Awards(R) as the official Oscar party for both winners and
nominees.
In February, Puck and Academy officials selected BV wines as the exclusive
wine for the event during a special tasting. BV Carneros Chardonnay and
Rutherford Cabernet were chosen the wines that best complement Chef Puck's
special menu, which includes Roasted Veal "Oscar" with Sweet Maine Lobster,
Asparagus and Sauce Choron.
"The most prestigious event in Hollywood requires the most prestigious
wines made," said Chef Wolfgang Puck. "We chose BV wines to serve at the
Governors Ball because of their excellent quality and long tradition."
"We are honored that BV has been selected as the exclusive wine for
Hollywood's biggest night," said John Philips, president of Beaulieu Vineyard,
which celebrated its centennial year in 2000. "As we begin our second century
of passionate winemaking, we are also thrilled to be chosen by the Academy and
Chef Wolfgang Puck for the evening's incredible menu."
Founded in 1900 by French immigrant, Georges de Latour, BV has earned its
place of distinction among the finest wines in the world. Under the guidance
of Joel Aiken, vice president of winemaking, BV's tradition of excellence
continues to reach new heights into the year 2001. In January 2001, BV was
named "Winery of the Year" by Wine Enthusiast Magazine.
