FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., June 28, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Beauty Encounter (www.beautyencounter.com), a leading online retailer featuring all things beauty and specializing in hard-to-find niche products, improves its customer experience with Checkout by Amazon, an Amazon Payments product. Beauty Encounter recently participated in an Amazon Payments case study that highlights the consumer benefits of Checkout by Amazon.

Implemented in February 2011 as part of Beauty Encounter's redesigned website, Checkout by Amazon has proven to be a great addition, offering consumers a convenient, flexible and trusted checkout option. "Shoppers are increasingly using Checkout by Amazon as a payment option with it already accounting for 20% of our orders," says Thu Truong, Chief Technology Officer. "Twenty-one percent of customers using Checkout by Amazon are new-to-file for Beauty Encounter, which contributes to the growth of our customer base."

Beauty Encounter uses Checkout by Amazon's Inline Checkout experience, which is integrated into Beauty Encounter's existing checkout flow and allows customers to complete their order without ever leaving Beauty Encounter's site. When customers select Checkout by Amazon at checkout, they are able to access the shipping addresses and payment information stored in their Amazon.com account. "Customers using this payment method are less likely to abandon their cart since they are never redirected away from our site," says Truong. "This reliable and seamless functionality meets our customers' needs as we grow."

A survey conducted by Beauty Encounter further affirmed that their customers value the added convenience of Checkout by Amazon, garnering praise like, "Positive experience. Using my Amazon account to complete my order made it that much easier" and "Very easy ordering process!"
