Bentley College Honors Future Leaders in 4th Annual Tomorrow25 International Leadership Competition

    WALTHAM, Mass., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Humanitarian.
 Ambassador. Entrepreneur. Mentor. Who will be the next generation of
 leaders?
 
     Bentley College is accepting nominations for its fourth annual
 Tomorrow25 international leadership competition. Spotlighting exemplary
 high school juniors from around the world, the program honors students who
 demonstrate initiative, citizenship, technological savvy, cultural
 awareness, social responsibility and a commitment to making positive things
 happen in their communities or schools.
 
     Launched in 2005, the Tomorrow25 (http://www.bentley.edu/tomorrow25/)
 program has brought accomplished young men and women from around the U.S.,
 Mexico, Nicaragua, Turkey, Colombia, Ghana, Egypt, Singapore, Canada and
 the Czech Republic to Bentley each spring as honored guests at the Bentley
 Leadership Forum, presented in cooperation with TIME magazine. Winners
 interact with high-profile business leaders at the conference and are
 recognized individually at a luncheon ceremony. The Tomorrow25 also appear
 in a national advertisement in TIME magazine as part of Bentley's national
 campaign.
 
     Featured speakers at last year's Forum included:
     -- Acclaimed economist Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, Director, Earth
        Institute at Columbia University and named one of the 100 Most
        Influential Leaders in the World by Time magazine
     -- Jeffrey Swartz, President and CEO, Timberland. Under his direction,
        Timberland has grown to become an example for socially-responsible
        corporations around the world
     -- Nicholas Negroponte, PhD, Founder and Chairman Emeritus of the MIT
        Media Lab, as well as Founder and Chairman of One Laptop Per Child, a
        non-profit organization that has developed an inexpensive laptop
        computer for distribution to children in developing countries around
        the world to provide them with access to knowledge.
 
     This year's Tomorrow25 finalists and a family member will travel to
 Bentley (expenses paid) to attend the 2008 Bentley Leadership Forum on
 March 27, 2008.
 
     The 2008 Tomorrow25 winners are chosen through an international
 nomination process and selected by an international advisory board
 established by Bentley. Nominations are accepted from business and
 community leaders, teachers, school administrators, and guidance counselors
 (nominations from family members cannot be accepted).
 
     The deadline for accepting nominations is January 15, 2008. The Bentley
 Tomorrow25 Committee will conduct an initial review of nominations and
 notify the top 50 finalists by January 25, 2008.
 
     The Tomorrow25 Advisory Board will review the completed files of the 50
 final candidates and choose the final Tomorrow25 by mid-February 2008. For

     Criteria for Tomorrow25 selection include:
     -- Students who have demonstrated initiative and leadership in their
        schools, communities or organizations and have made a positive impact
        through their efforts
     -- Students who have clearly and consistently shown good citizenship,
        ethical behavior, social responsibility and character
     -- Students who have a solid academic record
     -- Students who have demonstrated abilities in, or specific
        accomplishments with, one or more of the following:
        -- New technologies
        -- Global culture or international affairs
        -- The arts or sciences
        -- Business or related professional interests
 
     Jeffrey Wright, Bentley associate director of Marketing Programs and
 Chairman of the Tomorrow25 committee said Bentley is committed to
 developing leaders of tomorrow. "Many high school students from all over
 the world have already made an impact on their communities. In the spirit
 of Bentley's mission to nurture leadership qualities, as we do with our own
 students, we want to recognize high school students who are poised to
 become the next wave of innovators and change agents," he said.
