BlackBeard Spiced Rum and No Shave November Announce Manliest Beard Contest Winner
Jeff Davis Receives $1,000 Grand Prize and Lance Armstrong Foundation Receives $2,500 Donation
NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The infamous pirate was renowned for his thick, black beard and fearsome, confident demeanor. BlackBeard Spiced Rum is an 86-proof premium-spiced aged rum that partnered with No Shave November to encourage men to "Own the Beard."
Men across the nation were encouraged to put down their razors for the month of November and post their legendary beards online (http://www.noshavenov.com and Facebook). The winner of the national contest not only receives beard bragging rights, but also a $1,000 grand prize.
BlackBeard Spiced Rum also made a donation to the Lance Armstrong Foundation (Livestrong.org) to support men with testicular cancer, the most common type of cancer in men ages 16 to 35. The Lance Armstrong Foundation provides practical information and tools people with cancer need to live life on their own terms.
