LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo., May 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Mazda recently announced that it would further its partnership with the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula (SCRAMP) by extending its naming rights agreement for the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The automaker added five more years to the agreement, which the Monterey County Board of Supervisors authorized. The partnership between Mazda and SCAMP started in 2001 and will now continue through 2016. The renowned Monterey raceway houses two of the world's most iconic natural road-racing courses. Automobiles and motorcycles have flexed their muscles at these courses for over 54 years.
The Mazda-SCRAMP partnership has allowed the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca to thrive as one of the most influential racing grounds in history. The automaker has helped to redesign the facility and enabled a variety of structural improvements. The course has received permanent pit garages as well as an extended track. Spectators also have improved viewing suites filled with several luxurious amenities.
