In addition to new features and functions, it also delivers a set of optional adapters for on-premise and Cloud-based storage platforms. The adapters enable SharePoint customers to relocate content BLOBs quickly and easily, without any coding or complex administrative tasks.

The initial set of Cloud adapters include Amazon® S3, AT&T® Synaptic(TM) Storage-as-a-Service (which is built upon EMC® Atmos), EMC® Atmos(TM), EMC Atmos onLine Storage Service, Rackspace® CloudFS(TM) and Windows® Azure(TM). There are also adapters available for EMC Centera® content addressed storage (CAS) platform and Hitachi® HCAP.
