BonitaSoft Reaffirms its Commitment to the Open Source Community and Joins the OW2 Consortium

GRENOBLE, France, October 7 /PRNewswire/ -- BonitaSoft, first provider of open source BPM solutions, and OW2, the international consortium which promotes best technologies for open source middleware, announced today that BonitaSoft has joined the OW2 Consortium.

With this announcement, BonitaSoft reaffirms the commitment to open source and to the OW2 consortium already demonstrated by the company's founders, who helped add Bonita in 2003 to the open source projects hosted by OW2.

"From the outset, the founders of BonitaSoft have been actively involved in the development of OW2. I have been happy to see the transformation of the consortium in recent years. OW2 is more and more involved in the development of an international community, and is actively developing business relationships between members. So it's natural for BonitaSoft to join the OW2 Consortium, to continue our development and to develop strategic partnerships with other consortium members such as Talend, eXo Platform, and Bull," said Miguel Valdes Faura, CEO of BonitaSoft and founder of the Bonita project.

Bonita is one of the premier projects of the OW2 Consortium, with more than 140,000 downloads to date and with more than 300 community contributors involved in the project. BonitaSoft is dedicating substantial effort to its research and development to release, very shortly, a new version of Bonita. In parallel, the team responsible for relationships with the BonitaSoft community is devoting its energy to the information exchange between Bonita R&D and the many Bonita contributors.

"We are excited by the entry of BonitaSoft into the OW2 Consortium. Bonita is already a pioneer project of the consortium and has become a leading player in BPM. The creation of BonitaSoft ensured the sustainability and continuing development of one of the most downloaded projects of OW2," said Cedric Thomas, CEO of OW2.

The international expansion of the OW2 Consortium, with the opening of dedicated Chapters in Europe, Brazil and China, gives it more visibility. This expansion helps BonitaSoft to be closer to its community and promotes the development of local business. BonitaSoft already has a large user community in Europe, and is seeing its community growing in Brazil and China since the establishment of OW2 Chapters there.
