Bright House Networks Launches PowerBoost(TM) with Download Speed Bursts of 20 Mbps, Higher

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Bright House Networks launched PowerBoost(TM) today for its Indiana customers, a new technology that allows the company's Road Runner Turbo customers to jumpstart their downloads from the Internet at no additional charge.

With PowerBoost, Bright House Networks customers in Indiana will experience increasing download speeds while downloading large files from the Internet pending available network capacity.

Both Road Runner Turbo with PowerBoost and RoadRunner.com are available exclusively through Bright House Networks.

The speed provided by PowerBoost is available to customers who subscribe to Road Runner at a specific level. For example, Road Runner Turbo customers with a current speed of up to 15 Mbps will now enjoy PowerBoost speeds up to 22 Mbps. Once a PowerBoost is completed, a download in progress will continue at a normal speed.

No file downloads are required for the activation of PowerBoost. The technology works with today's compatible cable modems, home networking gateways and voice eMTAs (combination high-speed Internet modems and phone adapters).
