ALBANY, N.Y., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Connie Talbot, the acclaimed 8-year-old vocal superstar from the U.K., has teamed up with the Boscov's department store chain in the northeast U.S. for a cross-marketing campaign in support of her Holiday Magic album. On Saturday, November 21st at 12:00 PM, Connie will perform at the Boscov Mall in Scranton, PA, followed by a meet and greet session. Connie will be wearing Boscov's clothing for the occasion, as she has done previously on regional TV. The performance will include members of the Scranton High School Choir who also recently appeared with her in the PBS syndicated Connie Talbot Holiday Magic special. Connie and Boscov's will use the marketing initiative to promote their joint commitment to the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots foundation, for whom Connie is the 2009 child ambassador.
Albert Boscov, chairman - chief executive officer remarked "We're thrilled that Connie - such a talented youngster - is joining us to bring a little holiday magic to everyone this holiday season."
Boscov's is the largest family owned department store chain in the USA; it currently has stores reaching across five states in the Mid-Atlantic region of the country. Boscov's is actively and intimately involved with the non-profit organizations in each of its local communities. Throughout the year Boscov's holds food and clothing drives, bake sales, paper pin-up sales and other fundraising and awareness events for local community organizations.
AAO chairman Peter G. Kuys commented, "We have had a long relationship with Boscov's over the last decade. This campaign was personally picked by Mr. Boscov, and we feel that both parties can be perfect for each other while adding great value to Connie's Toys for Tots campaign."
Talbot's new association with Boscov's caps a busy season for the youngster. The Pennsylvania events come on the heels of the October 20th release of Holiday Magic, featuring the young songbird's renditions of classic holiday songs. In addition to the Boscov's events, the singer recently announced that she would dedicate Holiday Magic to Toys for Tots and donate part of the proceeds to the venerable organization. Connie is performing at a number of Toys for Tots fundraising events.
Connie recently filmed her own one-hour Holiday Magic TV special, produced by WVIA, the PBS affiliate in northeastern Pennsylvania. The high-definition special will be available nationally to all PBS stations for use from the second week of November through December, and will feature all of the songs from Holiday Magic. The DVD of the one-hour program also features additional songs and interview footage with Connie.
