Brixmor Expands California Presence with Multiple Anchor Retailer Openings

NEW YORK, Sept. 7, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Brixmor Property Group announced grand openings this week for Dick's Sporting Goods, Marshalls, and Toys"R"Us/Babies"R"Us at three of its California centers.

Dick's Sporting Goods opened a 44,166 square foot store on September 5 at Brixmor's Esplanade Shopping Center in Oxnard, CA.  A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Friday, September 7 at 8:00 a.m. Special extended store hours will also be in effect for Friday (8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.), Saturday (8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.) and Sunday (9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.).  Dick's Sporting Goods also has a variety of special athlete appearances and giveaways scheduled to celebrate the grand opening festivities. This store will generate nearly 60 jobs.

Marshalls opened a 24,050 square foot store on September 6 at Brixmor's Lompoc Shopping Center in Lompoc, CA.  Brixmor is the largest landlord (by gross leasable area) to The TJX Companies, which includes 35 Marshalls locations.

Toys"R"Us, Inc. opened a 44,775-square-foot Toys"R"Us/Babies"R"Us Side-by-Side store on September 7 at Brixmor's Gateway Plaza in Vallejo, CA. The new store will celebrate its grand opening weekend with great savings, giveaways, kid-friendly activities and visits from popular costumed characters beginning on Friday, September 7 through Sunday, September 9.
