BT Appoints Chuck Pol COO, Americas Region

    LONDON, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- BT today announced that Chuck Pol has
 been appointed Chief Operating Officer, Americas Region.
     In this newly created position, Chuck will oversee operations across the
 lines of BT's businesses with a presence in the Americas.  He will directly
 manage BT's US Sales and Service teams -- a unit of about 150 people returned
 from the former Concert business -- and will have responsibility for working
 with the channels to expand BT's capabilities in the Americas by developing
 new supplier and distribution partnerships.

     Chuck will be returning to the US after 4 years in the UK, where most
 recently, he served as Director of Mobile Markets, BT Wholesale Services and
 Solutions.  In this position Chuck directed the sales and marketing and
 service operations as well as setting the strategy for BT's key mobile
 markets.  His previous BT roles were Business Manager, Hi-Tech Sector, BT
 Major Business and V.P. Sales and Service. Before joining BT in 1988, Chuck
 held various sales and marketing positions with ITT in New York.
     Chuck graduated from Belmont Abby College in North Carolina in 1978.  Born
 in Pennsylvania and raised in Central Islip, Long Island, he lives with his
 wife and three children in Edison N.J.  His office is based in New York City.
