Flame-Broiled Heritage to Create New Homestyle Burgers



    MIAMI, May 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Burger King Corporation set the standard for
 great grilled taste 45 years ago with the introduction of the flame-broiled
 Original WHOPPER(R) sandwich.  The company is once again leveraging its
 flame-broiled heritage to launch BK BACK PORCH(TM) Griller sandwiches,
 inspired by the taste of homemade seasoned burgers cooked to perfection on
 backyard grills.  Burger King Corporation is the first major fast food
 hamburger restaurant to offer premium burgers with that great homemade,
 backyard taste, available everyday, nationwide, beginning June 3rd.
     Made with seasoned beef patties "just like you'd make for your own back
 porch grill," and available year-round, BK BACK PORCH(TM) Grillers pay homage
 to America's backyard chefs by offering them great-tasting burgers just like
 the ones they'd make themselves  ...  if only they had the time.  BK BACK
 PORCH(TM) Grillers start with a bakery style bun, and two seasoned
 flame-broiled beef patties.  There are two different versions.  One is called
 the BK HOMESTYLE(TM) Griller, which tastes just like one you'd make at home.
 Toppings include fresh lettuce, red ripe tomatoes, mustard, pickles, and
 ketchup.  The second BK BACK PORCH(TM) Griller sandwich is the BK SMOKEHOUSE
 CHEDDAR(TM) Griller.  Toppings on that griller include smoked natural cheddar
 cheese, two full strips of crispy bacon, lettuce, and creamy smokehouse sauce.

 recommended prices of $2.39 and $2.99, respectively.

 Corporation is offering free MINUTE MAID(R) Frozen Lemonade drink with the
 purchase of a BK BACK PORCH (TM) Grillers Value Meal.  The offer is good June

 into "grill boards" on Los Angeles' Sunset Boulevard and Miami's Dixie
 Highway, US 1.  On May 30th, Burger King Executive Chef Peter Gibbons, the man
 responsible for creating the BK BACK PORCH(TM) Grillers, will climb atop the
 BURGER KING(R) grill board on Sunset Boulevard, and BURGER KING(R) Chef Bill
 Barrier will grace the BURGER KING(R) grill board on US 1 in Miami, to honor
 this breakthrough new product line.
     Burger King Corporation will also celebrate the introduction of BK BACK
 PORCH(TM) Grillers in its own backyard -- with a 40' x 40' banner on the side
 of its new headquarters building in Miami.  Burger King Corporation will move
 into the new building this summer.
     At the same time, BK BACK PORCH (TM) Grillers will make their debut at an
 event for Manhattan's discriminating burger lovers in New York's South Street
 Seaport, long known for its great outdoor ambience.  The new BURGER KING(R)
 "Grill Mobile" will be on hand sampling BK BACK PORCH(TM) Grillers to eager
 consumers while they listen to the sounds of the BK Legends band featuring
 artists from Foreigner, Billy Joel, the Rascals, Booker T and the MG's and

     From the Great Outdoors to the Great Indoors
     To dial up the excitement surrounding the launch of the new BK BACK
 PORCH(TM) Grillers and pay homage to the American tradition of backyard
 grilling, participating BURGER KING(R) restaurants will be decorated to take
 on the look and feel of an outdoor cookout.
     Beginning June 3, backyard chefs and hamburger lovers can find fun facts
 about grilling on a special "micro" Web site sponsored by Burger King
 Corporation.  In addition to information about the BK BACK PORCH(TM) Grillers,
 the micro-site will also feature special offers and promotions tied to the BK
 BACK PORCH(TM) Grillers.   AOL will also offer its members a printable coupon
 good from June 3rd through June 30th, 2002 for a free MINUTE MAID(R) Frozen
 Lemonade when they log onto AOL.
     The BK BACK PORCH(TM) Grillers advertising, which starts June 2, features
 a variety of spots.   In some spots, people are talking about the great taste
 of grilling at home.  In others, people show creative new uses for their
