Cabot Oil & Gas Announces New Officers

HOUSTON, July 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (NYSE: COG) today announced the recognition of two new vice presidents. Matt Reid will be Vice President, Regional Manager of the Company's newly formed south region; while Phil Stalnaker will be Vice President, Regional Manager of the newly created north region. "Both men have proven their leadership abilities and business acumen over the last several years in roles of increasing responsibility at Cabot," said Dan O. Dinges, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Each has key development areas to mature in the immediate future, Stalnaker with the Marcellus and Reid with the Haynesville/Pettet/Cotton Valley Taylor."

Reid is a graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He re-joined Cabot in April 2001, as Regional Operations Manager after a career with Broughton Operating Corporation, Energy Development Corporation and Total Minatome Corporation. Reid became Gulf Coast Regional Manager in March 2006.

Stalnaker is a graduate of West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. He joined Cabot in its Denver regional office as a Reservoir Engineer in January 2000 and was promoted to Manager, Engineering in October 2001. He became the West Regional Manager in March 2006.
