California Construction Trucking Association (CCTA) Expands With an Interstate Conference

UPLAND, Calif., June 12, 2012 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The California Construction Trucking Association (CCTA) is pleased to announce the addition of Joe Rajkovacz to its staff. Mr. Rajkovacz will lead the expansion of the association to include owner-operators and motor carriers operating in interstate commerce. The new conference of the CCTA, the Western Trucking Alliance will build on the association's successful 71-year history representing small-business, vocational trucking.

Mr. Rajkovacz's unique background spans 35 years of trucking involvement and includes 29 years as both a driver and owner-operator. He has extensive experience working with many government agencies and non-governmental organizations such as the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), California Air Resources Board (CARB), US EPA, and the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA).
"Mr. Rajkovacz's diverse background in the trucking industry will aid CCTA expansion to a significantly under-represented population of small-businesses," said Lee Brown , CCTA Executive Director. "Many owner-operators and small fleets face the specter of having to replace their equipment or invest in technology costing more than the value of their truck, all for no net environmental or public health benefit."
The CCTA is the only national trucking trade association aggressively fighting back against both CARB and US EPA regulations by actually suing both agencies in federal court. Owner-operators and motor carriers (especially those who drive into California from other jurisdictions throughout North America) can get more information by going to www.calcontrk.org or contact the CCTA at (909) 982-9898. Both Mr. Brown and Rajkovacz will be available in the CCTA booth this week at the Great West Truck Show in Las Vegas.
CCTA, formerly known as the California Dump Truck Owners Association (CDTOA), is a 501(c)(6) trade association incorporated in 1941. CCTA represents over 1,000 construction industry related trucking companies ranging in size from 1 truck to over 350 trucks whose business constitutes over 75% of the hauling of construction materials and equipment in California. CCTA's member employers provide work for approximately 4,000 drivers, mechanics, support personnel and managers. Approximately 60% of its members are sole proprietors – small one-truck independent owner-operators. CCTA's members are dump truck operators, as well as a large segment of the construction industry that hauls oversized and overweight off-road vehicles and materials, plus low-bed/heavy-haulers, concrete pumpers, flatbeds, water trucks, oil tankers, pneumatics, concrete pumps, mixers and street sweepers.
