NEW YORK, Sept. 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Cantor Fitzgerald & Co., a leading financial services firm, announced the continued expansion of its Equity Research team with the appointment of Christina Rizopoulos Valauri as Managing Director and Global Director of Research. Ms. Valauri's mandate is to build, integrate and manage the firm's global institutional equity research team in the U.S., Canada, London and Hong Kong.

Ms. Valauri joins Cantor from Natixis, where she served as Managing Director and Director of U.S Equity Research, as well as Global Director of Equity Research product for Healthcare, Energy and Commodities, and served as a senior member of the broker dealer management team for Natixis Securities Americas, LLC. Earlier, Ms. Valauri was Director of Equity Research and a founding partner of Broadpoint Capital, formerly First Albany Capital. She is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts, CFA Institute, Global Association of Risk Professionals, and International Corporate Governance Network. Ms. Valauri holds a B.A. in Biology from Reed College.
