Cascadiant Expands its Agreement with Indonesia's Technology Agency BPPT for Green Energy Research and Development
JAKARTA, Indonesia, Feb. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Green energy solutions company Cascadiant Energy has expanded its Agreement with Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT), the Indonesian Agency For the Assessment and Application of Technology.
Cascadiant and BPPT have deployed the Agency's first hydrogen fuel cell. This fuel cell will serve as the Agency's platform in expanding its fuel cell research and development program as well as serving as the commercial back-up power source for the Agency's data center.
There are 25,000 diesel generators used by the communications, fiber and broadcast industries in Indonesia for back-up power and an additional 5,000 diesel generators are replaced or added every year. Diesel generators are powered with imported environmentally damaging fossil fuels.
BPPT has recognized Indonesia's potential to lead the world in the development, manufacture and deployment of fuel cells based on domestic demand alone and Cascadiant is very pleased to partner with BPPT in their efforts.
"Indonesia has remote and harsh environments with significant energy challenges," stated Cascadiant's Founder and CEO Marshall Towe. "We hope to partner with the Indonesian Government and local companies to leverage domestically produced green energy sources and tap into the innovative spirit and leadership of BPPT," Towe concluded.
To illustrate the point Mr. Towe stated: "It is very frustrating and somewhat confusing that the wireless and broadcast industries continue to deploy diesel generators. In fact the number of generators deployed by operators are producing CO2 equivalent to over 20 million cars annually. That is simply not the right direction."
"These are large multi-national companies with responsibility to their customers, the countries they do business in and the environment and they are not meeting those responsibilities."
Towe concluded: "Our MES™ offering eliminates the risks operators face in deploying new green technologies. Our fixed priced long-term energy contract provides the highest level of performance at a total cost of ownership below that of outdated and polluting fossil fuel alternatives. There is no longer any reason for operators to continue to pollute the environment using century old environmentally harmful diesel generators for back-up power."
