Cash in at National Cornbread Cook-Off

    SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tenn., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Get out your cast iron
 skillet and Martha White(R) Corn Meal to win some cold, hard cash!  It's time
 to enter the National Cornbread Cook-Off 2002 sponsored by Martha White(R)
 Corn Meal and Lodge Cast Iron.  The annual Cook-off will be held in
 conjunction with the National Cornbread Festival in South Pittsburg, Tenn.,
 April 27 and 28, 2002.
     Enter today by sending you original MAIN DISH recipe cooked in a cast iron
 skillet and prepared with at least one cup Martha White(R) Corn Meal or one
 package of Martha White(R) Cornbread Mix.

 entries to: National Cornbread Cook-Off 2002, 209 7th Avenue North, Nashville,
 TN 37219.  Mail-in entries must be postmarked by February 28, 2002, and
 received by March 7, 2002.  E-mail entries must be received by midnight
 Central Standard Time on February 28, 2002.
     Ten lucky semifinalists will prepare their recipes and compete for cash
 prizes at the final judging on April 27 in South Pittsburg.  Contestants will
 cook up their creations under a big tent at the festival.
     The winner of the Cook-Off will receive a $2,500 cash prize and a 30-inch
 FiveStar stainless steel gas range (a $2,500 value) from the FiveStar Division
 of Brown Stove Works, Inc., of Cleveland Tenn.  The second place winner takes
 home $500 and the third $300.  The remaining seven semifinalists each win
 $100, and all receive a $500 travel allowance plus special gifts from Martha
 White(R) and Lodge Cast Iron.
     So get cooking with corn meal because you can't win if you don't enter!
 "Simple ideas are good ideas -- you don't need a lot of ingredients and
 difficult steps to make it a good recipe," advises Linda Carman, the Martha
 White(R) cornbread expert.
     All kinds of recipes have been selected as semifinalists in the national
 Cornbread Cook-Off -- from meaty casseroles with cornbread on the top to
 cornbread dressed up with meat and vegetables, and cornbread salads.
