DOVER, N.J., Aug. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc. is proud to announce the release of G-STEEL – a refined range of timepieces for the active gentleman seeking G-SHOCK's legendary performance and technology standards who also enjoys the look and feel of a metal timepiece.
Inspired by the adventurous man that grew up wearing G-SHOCK and now has a more refined style, the G-STEEL range offers six premium models. Debuting with a bold new design, the range is equipped with a tough layered bezel structure. The dual-layer makeup of the bezel fuses materials such as resin and steel, or resin and fine resin resulting in a timepiece that can resist strong top-down shocks.
The fusion of a resin bezel and stainless steel band will be available on the GSTS100D-1A2 and GSTS100D-1A4. The GSTS110D-1A model has a stainless steel bezel and band. Offering a stainless steel blue IP plated bezel, band, and case cover is the GSTS110BD-1A2. The GSTS110-1A has a stainless steel bezel and resin band. Finally, the GSTS100G-1A has a resin bezel and band, and a stainless steel gold IP plated case cover.
In addition to the layered bezel structure, the G-STEEL range provides an abundance of technological features. Tough Solar Power means never having to worry about the battery running down as all spectrums of illumination convert electric power for the timepieces. As is customary for all G-Shock timepieces, the G-Steel range is Shock Resistant and 200M Water Resistant. Additional features include Full-Auto Double LED, Neo-brite Luminous Hands, World Time (31TZ / 48 Cities + UTC), 5 Daily Alarms, 1/100th Sec. Stopwatch (60Min), Countdown Timer (100Min), 12/24 Hr Formats, Hand Retraction, and a Case Size of 52.4mm.

CASIO's shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe's dream of 'creating a watch that never breaks'. Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as 'the toughest watch of all time'. Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe's mantra "never, never give up". In 2013, G-SHOCK celebrated their 30th anniversary.
