SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Cayenne Medical, Inc., a privately held sports medicine device company, announced the appointment of Michael T. Gillem as Vice President of Sales, effective June 1, 2010. Gillem, who will be responsible for the direction and management of all sales activities for the Company's AperFix® and CrossFix™ systems, brings more than 18 years of medical device industry sales and sales management experience.

Prior to joining Cayenne Medical, Gillem served as Vice President of Sales at Stereotaxis where his leadership helped deliver a 27 percent increase of revenue in 2009 compared to 2008. Gillem has also held several senior level positions helping to introduce technology to the marketplace and drive clinical adoption. As Area Director of Foxhollow Technologies, Gillem helped grow the company to over 200 sales professionals, which resulted in significant revenue growth.

Gillem received his Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University.
