    CHICAGO, Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- New anchor line-ups for the station's
5:00-7:00 AM, 11:00 AM and 4:30 PM newscasts, effective Monday, September 30
were announced today by Carol Fowler, Vice President and News Director for
 CBS 2.
Stacia Dubin will begin co-anchoring the 5:00-7:00 AM timeslot with
Michael Ayala. Dubin will also join Mary Ann Childers as co-anchor at
11:00 AM, while Ayala will now report for this newscast. Ayala, who is also
an attorney, will specialize in daily news stories involving the courts and
 criminal justice.
"In evaluating the newscasts, we saw an opportunity for new anchor
pairings that will benefit our viewers," said Fowler. "Stacia is a
hard-working reporter who has performed well as a fill-in anchor, and we are
thrilled to have her at the anchor desk. Michael's background at Court TV and
his law degree are a natural fit for covering many of the legal issues that
 are making news."
At 4:30 PM, Childers and Antonio Mora will serve as co-anchors. Vince
Gerasole, who previously anchored at 4:30 PM, will devote his energy to
general assignment reporting. Tracy Townsend will continue to anchor the
5:00 PM newscast with Mora, and will now devote more time to serving as
CBS 2's education reporter. Mora will continue to co-anchor the 10:00 PM
 newscast with Linda MacLennan.
"Mary Ann has covered virtually all of the major stories in Chicago over
the past two decades," Fowler continued. "Her extensive experience reporting
breaking news and her knowledge of the market are of tremendous value. Vince
will bring more in-depth reporting to the newscasts and a wealth of experience
in the field as a general assignment reporter. And Tracy has a passion for
the education beat, which is a topic that is so important to people in this
city. The viewers have responded to Antonio, his integrity and skills as an
anchor are a welcome addition to any newscast, which is why we are excited to
have him add 4:30 PM to his anchoring duties."
