    SACRAMENTO, Calif., Aug. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- CH2M HILL, a global
 full-service engineering, construction and operations firm, announced today
 that it plans to add more than 1,000 jobs in California over the next five
 years, bringing its total California staff to more than 2,500 by 2012.

     "Our investment in California will help equip us to deliver the
 infrastructure improvements the state and its growing communities approved
 in the November election," said Ralph Peterson, CH2M HILL Chief Executive
 Officer and Chairman. "We are proud to grow our business in California,
 which will not only help make a sustainable future, but will build a
 technology platform in California that can bring sustainable solutions to
 infrastructure needs around the world."
     As California's marketplace is such a big factor in CH2M HILL's
 continued success, its Board of Directors meeting was held in Sacramento on
 August 9th and 10th. The Board represents the entire CH2M HILL global
 enterprise of 19,000 employees, with annual revenues of $4.5 billion.
     In addition to a significant investment in people, CH2M HILL is also
 expanding its current offices in California's urban and rural areas. The
 firm will add a new office in the Fresno area within a year, bringing the
 total number of California offices to twelve. "California is a rapidly
 growing state, with projections that the population will exceed 45 million
 by 2020," Peterson said. "Much of the infrastructure needed to support this
 rise in population is inadequate and Governor Schwarzenegger's vision,
 determination, and leadership has created an atmosphere that supports an
 investment in people and new offices within the state."
